
Yazan Alsabbagh (Syria; clarinet)
Yazan Alsabbagh is a Syrian clarinetist and producer from Damascus. He began piano at the age of 7, followed by clarinet at the age of 14. Yazan studied at the High Institute of Music in Damascus before moving to Germany to continue his Bachelor studies. Hazan studied classical music in Barenboim-Said academy in Berlin and sound engineering in Hofa Online College. He has performed several concerts with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra as a Guest Clarinetist and later was invited to perform as a soloist with the Oriental Music Symphony Orchestra playing pieces composed by him or for him. With his band he has performed throughout Germany, including at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Stuttgart Jazz festival and Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin. He taught clarinet, music theory and piano in Sulhi Alwadi institute in Damascus and elsewhere in Syria and Lebanon, as well as private tutoring for students of different ages and location face to face and online since 2017.
