Jam Sessions with Hasidic Dance
An evening of informal music making in good company
July 15, Mo 08:00 PM @ OMA

Donations are welcome!

Yiddish Summer Weimar is justly famous for its open-air jam sessions that enliven the summer nights in cafés and other spaces throughout Weimar. A jam session isn't a concert, rather it's a chance for musicians to meet, trade tunes and songs, and share their latest discoveries with anyone who's playing or listening. Each jam session is as unique as the collection of musicians who come together for the occasion, but this evening's session is particularly special: Eli Benedict, a scholar and performer of traditional Yiddish culture and dance, will lead us through traditional Hasidic Jewish dances alongside the jam. Whatever your experience level (or none), you are warmly invited to join us and learn the basics of Hasidic dance. Come and experience it yourself!
