Alina Bauer (DE; violin)
a violinist since childhood, she first encountered klezmer and traditional Eastern European music during her musicology studies. Since then, she has been fascinated by the role of the violin and its expressive possibilities in these musical traditions.
She also studied jazz violin at the Royal Conservatoire Bruxelles, Belgium, and completed her teacher training up to the 2nd state examination in music.
Her most important ensemble projects are Bakad Kapelye, Azind, Halva, and the Klezmerorchester Erfurt. She is a highly experienced teacher of violin, giving both individual and group instruction as well as leading workshops in klezmer music.
Currently she leads the Klezmer Tunelearning and Jam Session Leipzig.
