Anna Lowenstein (GB/IE; violin)

is a klezmer violinist from London and is training as a music therapist at the University of Limerick, Ireland.

A highly sought-after performer and teacher of the klezmer fidl tradition, Anna has taught at international workshops including Klezfest, KlezNorth, Styrian Klezmore Friling Festival, Fiddlers On The Move, and as a guest lecturer at the Irish World Academy of Music.

She is a founding member of the klezmer trio Loshn, alongside Susi Evans on accordion and John Macnaughton on clarinet. Anna’s theater credits include the Jewish pantomime Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Pig and the European debut of the Tony Award-winning play Indecent, which was selected as The Guardian’s no.1 theater show of the year.

Anna’s debut solo album, Through The Walls, explores her experiences growing up around the Hasidic community in London’s Stamford Hill through original klezmer tunes arranged for string quartet. The album will be released in winter 2025.
