Ida Gillner (SE; piano, saxophone, voice, composition)

is a musician, artist, and composer whose primary instruments are soprano saxophone, piano, and vocals. Rooted in the urban Swedish folk and world music scene—with a youthful love for pop, a more recent exploration of neoclassical music, and a long-lasting passion for Yiddish music and culture—Ida moves freely between genres and artistic expressions in both musicianship and composing. She appears regularly at theaters as a performing artist and composer.

Over the past decade, Ida has dedicated herself to composing musical settings of Yiddish poetry by women from the early 20th century in her project Shtoltse lider. The project has gained national and international recognition and tours extensively, weaving compelling storytelling together with  original music and century-old poetry. In 2026, Shtoltse lider will releases its second album, Queen of Word – A Tribute to Anna Margolin.

Ida is beyond excited to be part of the Her:Kol project!
