Johannes Paul Gräßer (DE; violin)

is a violinist and has been intensively involved with Yiddish music and culture since 1999. The main focus of his work is the preservation and further development of Yiddish culture.

He is the artistic director of the Jüdisch-Israelischen Kulturtage (Jewish-Israeli Culture Days) - the festival of the Jewish Community of Thuringia, founder and director of the Klezmerorchester Erfurt and the KlezWeCan community, and is active in various ensembles.

Johannes performs with numerous ensembles and teaches workshops throughout Europe. The Yiddish Forward (Forverts) wrote about him:

"... it is a work of art to play Romanian music in such a way that it does not sound 100% Romanian, but also Yiddish... With this recording Johannes Graesser is one of the leading violinists of the klezmer movement..."
