Lena Anseeuw (IT/BE; dance)
Hi! I'm Lena. I've been dancing for about as long as I can walk and talk.
I started ballet classes when I was 3 years old, and have never looked back.
Alongside ballet and contemporary dance, I discovered the world of balfolk when I was a teenager. I found a lovely dancing community where I felt right at home. In recent years, I've been travelling through Europe, both learning and teaching dance wherever I go.
During folk balls, oftentimes you'll find me on the sidelines, encouraging those who might need a little push, a little extra confidence, or a quick repetition of the steps.
As a teacher, I like making sure that no one in the group feels left out. All questions are welcome at any time.
My background in classical and contemporary dance has taught me how to explain the moves in a way our bodies can understand, even when the ears cannot, which makes for a very natural and intuitive way of learning.
I'm very happy to introduce you all to this form of dancing that's close to my heart.
