Nora Thiele (DE; Percussion)
is a multi-instrumentalist, artistic director, composer, and a mediator between genres, historical periods, and cultures. She works on transdisciplinary projects and creates intercultural concert programs.
Her entire artistic practice is shaped by a global awareness of music history and a holistic understanding of musical and cultural connections. Rhythm and improvisation lie at the heart of her work.
In her current solo program, Nora Thiele combines percussion instruments and piano with loops and electronics to create a unique sonic setup. The result is music that seamlessly blends ethnic grooves, minimal music, earthy rhythms, and neoclassical influences.
Through GLOBAL GROOVE, a teaching method developed by her, Nora Thiele brings together her many years of engagement with the world's diverse rhythmic traditions. She shares this approach in workshops and masterclasses around the globe.
