Sir Frank London (US; trumpet, composing/arranging, band leading)
is a Grammy-award winning trumpeter-composer and co-founder of the Klezmatics.
His latest recordings include the Klezmatics’ We Were Made For These Times, Spirit Stronger Than Blood (New York Times Top Ten Jazz Records 2024), Brass Conspiracy (Tzadik Records), Chronika (Electro-Acoustic Klezmer-Hasidic party), In The City of God and Ghetto Songs.
Frank has worked with Itzhak Perlman, Pink Floyd, Angelique Kidjo, LL Cool J, Mel Tormé, Lester Bowie, David Byrne, Jane Siberry, John Zorn, and is on over 500 CDs.
His compositions include 1001 Voices: A Symphony for a New America; the Yiddish-Cuban opera Hatuey Memory of Fire; Salomé: Woman of Valor; and Freylekhs Klezmer Fantasy for Trumpet & Orchestra.
He was knighted for his work promoting multi-cultural music in Hungary.
