Susi Evans (GB/DE; clarinet)
is a founding member of the UK's award-winning klezmer and Balkan band She'Koyokh (formed 2001) and the London Klezmer Quartet.
Susi trained as a classical clarinettist, graduating from London's Royal Academy of Music in 2004, but much of her career has been dedicated to performing klezmer, from weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs to concerts and festivals.
Since 2020, Susi has been based in Hannover. Susi and her duo partner, Szilvia Csaranko, teach klezmer workshops all over Europe and worldwide via their online Klezmer Playbook CLUB. They have released two well-reviewed albums. Their second duo album, Klezmer fun an Altn Heft: Beautiful Music from Old Manuscripts, is their exploration of melodies collected during the An-ski expedition between 1912-1914 that were only recently discovered in the National Library of Ukraine.
