Black Sea Musical Heritages
KaraYam celebrates the common musical heritage of the peoples around the Black Sea - from Anatolia over the Balkans to Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. Greek tunes meet Klezmer, Ottoman music meets Balkan rhythms - and much more! KaraYam (“kara” = "black" in Turkish; “yam” = "sea" in Yiddish) consists of five musicians with diverse backgrounds sharing melodies that are both joyous and sad, fast and slow, mixing styles and tunes, tradition and improvisation, and challenging the conventional view of separate traditions.
In case of bad weather the concert will take place at mon ami.
