Wandelhalle
We are proud to present master musicians who came from Moldova, Greece, France, Germany and the USA to fill this year’s Yiddish Summer Weimar with life. From the 18th through the mid-20th centuries, historical Moldavia was at the crossroads of the Russian, Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empires. It was also home to Yiddish professional musicians (klezmorim) who acted as conduits for the many different musical cultures that arrived from all directions of the compass. This evening, we invite you to experience just a sample of those musical riches in the hands of some of their greatest interpreters.
