Jewish Thought on One Foot:
How the Ark became an Idol
August 7 - 10, 2023
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. & 3 – 6 p.m.
with Miriam Camerini and Rabbi Elhanan Miller
After everything that has been happening in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank in the last few months, Miriam Camerini – who has led the YSW workshops on Judaism for the last three years – has invited Rabbi Elhanan Miller, who is also a journalist, peace activist and scholar of Islam, to help lead a discussion with all those who feel the need to reflect on and go deeper into one of the most unsettling and multifaceted issues of today’s world. We want to stay together and “breathe,” focus, read, learn, discuss, and dive into biblical and rabbinical traditional texts that might help us understand and think in a different way about power, violence, religion, the diaspora, Zionism, messianism, “church and state,” war. And peace.
