
Miriam Camerini (IT/IL; theater, voice, Jewish studies)
studied Linguistics and Literature at Milan State University, Theater Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Bible and Talmud at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem.
Among her productions are Golem, Un grembo due nazioni molte anime, Caffè Odessa, Messiah and Revolution; and, as an opera stage director, Giuseppe Sarti’s Armida e Rinaldo (The Jerusalem Theatre, 2024).
At Yiddish Summer Weimar, Miriam performed in the Bobe Mayses project in 2016 and directed Di Megile fun Vaymar in 2019. In 2024, she co-produced and performed in a Purimshpil for UNESCO at the Medem Yiddish Centre. She also produced Lo Shabbat di tutti, a show that invites audience members to experience a Shabbat dinner.
Miriam is a rabbinical student at Beit Midrash Har'El and lectures regularly at Italian state and Catholic universities and the Italian National Jewish Museum (MEIS).
After years of interfaith work with Muslim and Christian communities, she published a book on food and religion, Ricette e Precetti (2019), which was published in German as Rezepte und Gebote.
Miriam is currently working on a new Italian commentary and translation of the Song of Songs for teenagers.
