
Avery Gosfield (DE/US; recorder, pipe and tabor, musicology)
is the director of Lucidarium, a medieval-Renaissance ensemble that focuses on the repertoires of the “others” who lived outside centers of musical notation.
She regularly teaches master classes and gives lectures about Jews in medieval and Renaissance Europe. Avery’s work has been published with Brill, De Gruyter, Indiana University Press and (forthcoming) the Ugo and Olga Levi foundation.
Avery has held residencies at the Bodleian Library, curated symposiums for STIMU, and taught master classes for Creative Europe.
In 2022, she was named the ShUM Artist in Residence to create the video project Ritual Echoes.
Avery is currently pursuing a doctorate at the Orpheus Institute.
