Yiddish Music: Then and Now

A lively concert of Yiddish music from across the centuries

So, Aug 4 ‘24   03:00 @Diakonie Landgut Holzdorf, Otto-Krebs-Weg 5, 99428 Holzdorf Holzdorf | Free Admission

Two virtuoso klezmer couples meet in a potpourri of old and new klezmer tunes, Yiddish songs, cantorial improvisations and much more! Craig Judelman, Sasha Lurje, Sarah Myerson, and Ilya Shneyveys perform all over the world in different constellations and ensembles, including Ensemble Lebedik, Forshpil, Shekedina, Black Rooster, and the Brooklyn Klezmer trio. In this concert, they draw all these threads together to present a widely varied and thoroughly unexpected combination of styles and sources. You might find yourself singing along and perhaps even getting up to dance!

Craig Judelman (US/D) - violin
Sasha Lurje (LV/D) - voice
Sarah Meyerson (US) - voice, percussion
Ilya Shneyveys (LV/US) - multi-instrumentalist
