Sasha Lurje is one of the leading Yiddish singers of her generation, recognized for her greatly varied repertoire and extensive involvement in diverse musical projects. Through deep study of vocal techniques, Sasha has developed the ability to create distinct vocal worlds for each of her artistic endeavors.

In this workshop, participants will explore repertoire ranging from traditional ballads and lyrical songs to cabaret and contemporary pieces drawn from Sasha’s various performance programs. We will delve into performance practices and the art of creating a unique voice for each song. Through hands-on work, you’ll learn how to discover a song’s character and explore the techniques that bring it to life. The workshop will also offer insight into the wide range of projects and research efforts that inform Sasha’s approach to Yiddish music.

Please note! This is a 3-hour workshop. It can be booked separately or in combination with another 3-hour workshop taking place during the same period but at a different time of day (Master Class with Ethel Raim or Yiddish Buffet).
The fee for two 3-hour workshops is the same as for a standard 6-hour workshop.
