Tour: Jewish Life in Weimar Weimar City Tour
Fri, Aug 15 ‘25 11:00 AM - 01:00 PM
Jüdischer Friedhof

The first Jewish families settled in Weimar in the 14th century. Their life and work in and for the city was always precarious and for a long time, unforunately, was not a given. A closer look, though, reveals where Jewish life took place, where Jewish people worked, and where they made their home. To mark the anniversary of 900 Years of Jewish Life in Thuringia in 2021, Lernort Weimar e.V. developed the first Weimar city tour focusing on Jewish life as well as an exhibition that shows its most diverse facets. The tour pays special attention is paid to the mechanisms of exclusion that came into play over the centuries. We invite you join us on this tour of the city center to follow the traces of Weimar's more than 500 years of Jewish history.

Language: All tours will be conducted in German, with a simultaneous English translation via headsets available for up to 10 people per tour.
