Francesca Ter-Berg (GB; cello, composer)

is known for her unique blend of klezmer, improvisation, and electronic synthesis.

Francesca composes for film and TV, with commissions including the Turner Contemporary and Margate NOW Festival.

She tours and records with Imogen Heap, Tom Skinner, Portico Quartet and Ziah Ziah. Her debut EP was named among the Best Experimental Music on Bandcamp in 2021.
In 2024, her critically acclaimed duo with Flora Curzon, Fran & Flora, released its second self-produced studio album, Precious Collection, which was named one of the Guardian’s Top 10 Folk Albums of 2024.

A student of Dan Blacksberg, Stuart Brotman and Tcha Limberger, Francesca has spent many years developing her klezmer style and exploring all aspects of klezmer music, from accompaniment, tenor lines, and bass to melody, as well as simultaneously singing.

She regularly collaborates with prominent klezmer musicians, including Jake Shulman-Ment, Anna Lowenstein, Merlin & Polina Shepherd, Craig Judelman, Zoe Aqua, Deborah Strauss, Michael Alpert, Frank London, Sasha Lurje, Ilya Shneyveys and many more. Francesca performs and teaches at klezmer festivals around the world, including KlezMore Vienna, KlezFest London, and Yiddish New York.
