Leila Schütz (AT/FR; voice, acting)
Prize-winner of the 2023 Cavalli Monteverdi Competition in Cremona, French soprano Leila Schütz studied violin and theater in Paris before training as a singer at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden.
While a member of the ensemble at Theater Rostock, she performed an extensive range of roles, including Frasquita (Carmen), Amore (Orfeo ed Euridice by Gluck), the Sandman/Dew fairy (Hänsel und Gretel) among many others.
In 2022 she premiered the role of Glikl in the Glikl oratorye, with music by Dr. Alan Bern and libretto by Dr. Diana Matut. She regularly performs Yiddish music with the Kadya Trio alongside Alan Bern and Mark Kovnatskiy, appearing in 2025 at the Kraków Philharmonie and the Shtetl Berlin Festival.
