Ella Ponizovsky Bergelson (RU/IL/DE; visual artist)

is a visual artist. Her practice focuses on the visualisation of language and cultural hybridity through site-responsive murals, public interventions, performance, and multifaceted installations in public space, museums, and galleries.

Language and typography are central to her work. By combining scripts and visual systems from different alphabets, she creates layered textual compositions that challenge fixed meaning and shape how text is encountered in space. Many of her projects connect specific texts to specific sites, using language as a spatial and material element.

Her projects include the first publicly commissioned Holocaust memorial mural in the United States (Philadelphia, 2025) and Pseudo Territory, an AR-based sculptural work presented at the Yiddishland Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2022). Her work has been presented internationally in museums, galleries, and public spaces through site-specific murals and interventions across multiple continents.
