Mirella Frenzel (DE; installation artist)

is an installation artist whose work ranges from animation to soundscapes and multi-layered narrative forms.

After completing her bachelor's degree in communication design, she pursued a master's degree in sound/vision in Hamburg, focusing on the field of artistic research. Her work centers on the question of how knowledge can be experienced through space, materiality, and collective working methods, characterized by networked, collaborative work.

Since 2019, she has been working with Vanessa Könemund on various installation projects. From 2021 to 2023, she was involved as a projection assistant in the Decoder Ensemble's musical theater production ANIMA™, and in 2022, together with Maximilian Stilke, she designed visuals for the interdisciplinary oratorio Glikl – A Musical Herstory, by Dr. Alan Bern and Dr. Diana Matut, about the life of Glikl von Hameln.

Since 2023, she has been working with Vanessa Könemund as a video and installation artist in the Affekt & Geste collective. The musical theater piece HEAT was created within this framework in 2024.
