For the first time, the Youth Klezmer Band is a cooperation between Yiddish Summer Weimar, the Johann Nepomuk Hummel Music School in Weimar and the City of Erfurt Music School!

Are you between 7 - 19? If so, then join us this year for an exciting, hands-on introduction to klezmer music and Yiddish song. The teachers are star performers who love introducing young people to this amazing music with its beautiful melodies and great beats

We’ll work in two separate age groups, 7-11 and 12-19, meeting in the afternoon on Thursday and Friday with double sessions on Saturday. On Sunday we’ll be part of a concert in a very special ceremony when Erfurt is officially named a UNESCO World Heritage Center. All young music students ages 7-19 are welcome to join us, whether you are a student in the Weimar or Erfurt music school or not.

7-11 year-old group
with Sasha Lurje (voice) & Ilya Shneyveys (accordion and many other instruments)

Schedule:
Thursday & Friday: 15:00 - 16:30
Saturday: 10 - 11:30 and 15:00 - 16:30

12-19 year-old group
with Craig Judelman (violin, strings), Hanna Ochner (clarinet, woodwinds) & Ilya Shneveys (accordion and many other instruments)

Schedule:
Thursday & Friday: 17:00 - 19:00
Saturday: 12:00 - 14:00 and 17:00 - 19:00
