All about Khave (Eve)
Women and Jewish Life Past, Present, Future
July 11 - 18, 2026; unstructured (free) day: July 15
10 a.m. - 1 p.m. & 3 - 6 p.m. | all levels
with Miriam Camerini

Khave (Eve), in the book of Genesis, very far from being the “sinner”, is the first human to try out new things.
It is thanks to her that life goes on, which is the reason why she is called Hava, in Hebrew: “The mother of all living creatures”.
In a fun, deep, interactive and engaging workshop (for the first time at YSW a full one week) Miriam Camerini, theatre artist and Modern Orthodox rabbi-in-training, will present her very unique perspective on women in the bible, in rabbinic literature and contemporary life, as well as throughout Jewish history.
Through text study, discussion, literature, film and media, we’ll delve into the intricacies and depths of what being a woman meant and means in Jewish communities yesterday, today and possibly tomorrow.
This workshop is open to all levels and is highly recommended to those intending to attend the intermediate and advanced song workshops the following week. It provides a truly unique historical, cultural and philosophical context for the women’s songs that will be taught in those workshops.
Workshop fee:
530 € Standard / 425 € Reduced / 740 € Sponsor / 180 € Under 18
